Truck condition

Check for new leaks, warning lights, unusual noises, and unresolved service issues.Inspect tire tread, sidewalls, wheels, and the spare; set pressures for the vehicle, tires, and load using the applicable guidance.Verify wheel fasteners using the correct service specification and procedure.Check accessible steering and suspension parts for damage, leaking shocks, torn boots, and loose or missing hardware.Confirm normal brake operation and inspect visible hoses and lines for damage or leaks.Look for visible driveline damage, loose hardware, torn boots, and leaks; have suspect joints or bearings inspected.

Before working underneath

Park on a firm, level surface, secure the vehicle against movement, switch off the engine, and follow the manufacturer’s lifting procedure. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack or inspect moving driveline parts.

After a wet or dusty trip

Follow the vehicle’s inspection and service instructions for the conditions encountered. Off-road use can introduce debris around brakes and other components. New vibration, reduced braking, leaks, or unusual noises call for inspection before the next outing.
